bewhiskered bedraggled bewildered
sways across the intersection
grabs an old beer can from the gutter
no wonder perth’s such a tidy city we say
even the vagrants pick up litter
ecstatically he lifts
the tyre battered relic
sips the last drips
wipes his lips tosses it away
our bus roars with laughter
